How To Make Money Online Without A Website

Monday, August 3, 2009

You don't need to have a website to make money on the Internet. Here is a proven strategy to make money online without a website:

Step 1: Affiliate Product

Find a product to promote where you make good commission on each sale. Generally, you will get the biggest commissions on digital products. Digital products are defined as something that is downloaded directly to a customer's computer after purchasing, like electronic books or software.

Since there is no extra cost per unit, no inventory and no shipping, the commissions are much greater than on regular "physical" goods. The most common commission on digital products is 50%. The best place to find such products is Clickbank.com.

Sign up as a reseller (also called affiliate) for a product that looks the most appealing to you. After you sign up, you will get a unique affiliate link where you need to send people to purchase the product.

Your affiliate link will have a special code that will tell the product owner that it's you who referred the customer. The affiliate link code will allow your commissions to be tracked correctly and assigned to you.

Step 2: Domain Name

Get a domain name to redirect to your affiliate link. A domain name is a .COM name (like yourproduct.com). You can get it for under $9 at GoDaddy.com. GoDaddy.com will allow you to redirect your domain name to your affiliate link at no extra cost.

So when someone types in your .COM domain in their browser, it will go to your affiliate link. The visitor will see the website with the product you promote, and the commissions will be tracked correctly.

The reason why you need a domain name is that it's memorable and it makes you look more trustworthy. Affiliate links tend to be too long and arouse suspicion. For example, most people would rather click on the link bestwidgets.com as opposed to abcwidgets.com?reseller=john

A domain name will make your affiliate link look like it's your own website. So basically, you will have a product to promote and a website to send people to and get commissions - without really having your own website.

Step 3: Drive Traffic

In order to make sales, you need to get visitors to your domain name (which will forward them to the website of the product that you resell). You can pay for advertising and hope that your profit will be greater than advertising cost, or you can use free ways to generate traffic.

The most effective way to get free targeted visitors to your domain name is by writing and submitting articles. You can write short articles on the topic related to the product that you promote. At the end of the article, you include your author bio and your domain name link.

You will then submit your articles to various websites, and allow them to publish your articles as long as your link is included. Your articles will get published in many places on the Internet, and will be advertising your affiliate link at no cost to you whatsoever. People will read your articles, like what you have to say and click on your domain name link ready to buy.

Once you start getting regular sales from your articles, you can go back to step 1 and find another product to promote using this strategy. After a while, you will build up a nice source of Internet income - without even having a website.

Make Money Online Scams

Many people go online in search of easy money, but they come out thinking the idea of quit-your-job online income is just a scam.

The basic problem is that most people do not know what to look for when trying to find the 'right' opportunity for them ' most people see an add on television or online, but do not do the proper research to see if the program meets their needs or not. As a result, they end up spending valuable time and money on home business scams that end up going nowhere, and they fail to take any action.

Those who are just starting out looking at online business opportunities can benefit from a list of a few simple 'tests' that often separate legitimate systems from scams and time-wasters.

First, how expensive is the program? In any business, you are trying to make a profit. Always be realistic about how much you can afford to spend, and if the pricetag is more than you make in two months, it is probably a good idea to walk away.

Second, is there an actionable plan in the program? Many "make money online" only give you general information but never really tell you what to do, much less when to do it. If you are going to start an online business, you need to have a realistic plan.

Third, does the program have a money-back guarantee? If a seller is confident in their product and confident that you will be satisfied with it and actually have a decent shot of making money, there should be a guarantee of at least 30 days attached.

Next, how much does the sales letter promise you will earn? Everyone wants to make millions of dollars, but it is not terribly realistic to make seven figures in your first month, or even your first year. Try to find a program that doesn't hang its sales pitch on trying to make you believe you will be sipping cocktails in the Caribbean by the time you are through reading it.

Finally, ask yourself if the system is right for you. There are many, many ways to make money on the Internet, and the key to any of them is your ability to follow through and take action to make them work for you. Even if it's not a scam, if you don't think you can stick to it, keep looking.

Far too many people just dream of having a successful business online, but once they buy a product it just sits on their hard drive or in their garage with no action being taken. Money will not fall from the sky: Find something you can set your mind to, and then commit to it.

Make Money Online Safely

Saturday, August 1, 2009

As the internet has aged is has become increasingly difficult to make money off of it without getting scammed. No, this is not because all the good ideas have been taken. And no, it is not because all the online gold mines have already been tapped. It is strictly because scammers have polluted the internet with ways to make money online that do not work for the consumer. They usually do work for the scam artist though. So how can one still make a good amount of money online without getting scammed? It can be difficult, however it is still very possible.

Everyday thousands of people type make money online into their search engines. There are variations on the term such as how to make money online, earn money on the internet, make money online for free, etc. After typing this into Google how many results pop up? Somewhere around 20 million. So if there are 20 million results for "make money online" why is it so difficult to actually make money online. After all, there are 20 million websites "telling" you how to earn cash using the internet right? Wrong. Dead wrong. It's frustrating to see so many people fail to view these websites through the designer's eyes. Do you truly and honestly believe that a website designer wants to show you all the "secrets to online success" that he/she knows? If they share their secrets, there will simply be more competition for them to deal with. So if there are a sea of fakes, how can you possibly know which one to click on without getting scammed? Here are a 10 rules of thumb I suggest you follow.

1. Be careful when navigating websites and blogs that offer "free" information on making money online. More often than not the purpose of the site is NOT to help you, but to help themselves. They offer useless information that does not work very well, while sprinkling hyperlinks and ads all over the place. They make their money not from the useless info they give you, but from you clicking on their links and ads that they get paid to put up. Clicking on some of those links can lead you to harmful websites designed to steal your money. The Scambusters website is a perfect example of this. I dare you to click on some of their links (but I don't advise it).

2. Avoid any scams that claim to require absolutely no work. The techniques for making money online in my book do require a little bit of effort. Always remember that nothing is for free. If there were a system where people just clicked a few buttons and made tons of money, don't you think everyone would have discovered it by now.

3. NEVER pay more than $15 dollars for ANYTHING claiming to help you make money online. My experiences have lead me to conclude that the more expensive "information" is the worst kind. Schemers are out to make big profits so they are going to charge high. I once paid $25 for a membership to a website claiming to give me legal access to unlimited music and movies. After making the purchase I simply received a Word document telling me how to use Limewire (which is an illegal peer to peer software service that most people know about anyway).

4. Always avoid clicking on links to webpages that have a long URL. For example www.blablablabla.com/102349804985. The numbers at the end are used to ensure that when you sign up for something, the member who has lead you there will be entitled to a portion of the profits you make.

5. Be wary of giving out your credit card. This one should be obvious, but let me go into further detail. If you are giving out your credit card through PayPal, that is fine. If you are giving it out to some random website, you are at a high risk of identity theft.

6. Avoid "flashy" websites with tons of animation. If a website's main goal is to draw you in with colors and animations, how much thought should you assume they have placed into the actual content? Not very much.

7. Avoid websites claiming to make you absurd amounts of money. Hundreds of thousands are just not possible unless you stumble upon dumb luck, or work very hard.

8. NEVER answer to an e-mail you have received that requires you to donate cash to get on a list of some sort. These are chain letters and pyramid schemes. They are highly illegal, and only work for those who start them. And those who start them end up in prison.

9. Be careful of websites that show up first when you search "make money online." These sites appear at the top of the search engines because they have learned how to manipulate them. If they can manipulate Google's search engine, what makes you think they do no plan to manipulate you?

10. Avoid the "Please Check out these Offers, they help keep our site free" scam. Schemers want to make their site appear as legit as possible. Therefore they sell a product and make it look as though it is an outside offer not associated with them.

I was able to compile this list because I have been schemed in every way listed above. The majority of us have to make several mistakes before learning how to make money online. However, by following the tips above, you will increase your chances of making money online without getting scammed.
